30.01.2013 - 04.03.2013

The Slum Dwellers International is undertaking an action-based research in three countries namely India, Uganda and Zimbabwe to examine community-based monitoring systems. A learning and documentation team will therefore be visiting Harare from the 30th of January to the 4th of February 2013 to dialogue and reflect on the engagement and relationships that have been built between the state and the alliance of the Zimbabwe Homeless People’s Federation and Dialogue on Shelter. The visiting team will comprise SDI representatives from The Philippines and India supported by a researcher from International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED). The team will meet with officials from City of Harare, Ministry of Local Government and Urban Development followed by reflections on community-led savings and enumeration processes.
